The STA (Structural Timber Association), formerly the UK Timber Frame Association, has expanded to take on a broader scope of timber in construction. The STA has high standards of quality that are there to protect and give confidence to the building industry and to the general public (self-build clients). The STA has been extremely proactive with the issues of fire in construction and has been responsible for a workable solution that is accepted by the HSE, Local Authority and other government authorities. The STA works in close collaboration with the NHBC, LABC and other building control agencies.
