Timber Frame

Why Clients Choose Merronbrook for their Project

Simply because we have the experience with Timber Frame Projects that cover all forms of residential and commercial projects. We have been involved in housing projects ranging from simple small bungalows to large housing association projects for National Contractors. We are also involved with commercial work involving sports pavilions, nursing homes, hotels and offices.

Some examples of these projects can be seen further down this page.

In our Timber Frame Packages we incorporate the Floor Joist System easi-joist, an open metal web system that allows easy access for pipes and cables in floor zones. This speeds up the first fix stages and makes the provision of ducting for new heat loss recovery systems so much easier. We also use ply decking for intermediate flooring providing several advantages over chipboard.

We are able to offer a full erection service for all our Timber Frame Houses and Timber Frame Commercial Structures using experienced and fully qualified erection teams.

To find out what is included in any of our Timber Frame Packages please contact us using the contact us page.

If you would like to receive a quotation on any of our products, please send us your drawings at a minimum of 1:100 scale or contact us first on the contact us page for further information regarding your exact requirements.

Why Use Timber Frame Construction

Time savings: An average house can be built 15% faster than using traditional methods. When building nursing homes or multiple units this time saving is multiplied and can show large financial savings. On larger multiple units following trades can work on lower levels while the timber frame erection continues above. This is possible as the floor above acts as a safety deck for those working below. This allows even quicker build times as it is often the internal trades that require the longest time in multiple units.

Accurate Building Schedules:  Timber frame construction is less dependent on the weather conditions. The building shell is made weatherproof quickly, enabling the following trades to start sooner.

Environment: Timber Frame construction improves ‘U’ values without the need for wide wall construction yet still maintaining a clear cavity. The majority of the build elements are derived from renewable sources.

A cleaner method of building: Less waste removal from site and a cleaner environment to work in.
