Roof Trusses

In this example, ‘room-in-roof’ was executed by combining several technologies: simple top-hat trusses, supported on steel purlin beams, and the remaining roof slope created in loose-cut rafters. An alternative and sometimes vital design where attic trusses could not be utilised.

Timber Frame

This example of a three-storey detached dwelling, shows off the versatility of timber frame and the variety of shapes and structures that can be accommodated simply. With only a small amount of steel support beams, we engineered the walls, floors, and roof system to incorporate many desirable features including ‘room-in-roof’, large open-plan living spaces, and an integral garage.

Floor Joists

Our open metal web joists – easi-joists® – have numerous benefits, including greater spans, and accommodating many services routes. And because each joist is engineered for the specific location in which it's used, a greater degree of design flexibility is afforded. In this example, first-floor joists were cantilevered to form an overhanging porch section without the need for additional support posts.

Roof Features

Room-in-the-roof

Coupled with the use of trussed rafters and steel purlins, an additional habitable area has been created in the roof zone. Utilising shaped gable end panels and internal dividing room panels. This space was created using entirely prefabricated elements.

Luxurious Living

Creating an open plan attic room allows your extra space to become whatever you desire. Sloped ceilings, give the feel of space, and allow you to create master suites or playrooms with minimal limitation.

Room Space Features

Garage

Our timber frame panel system can easily incorporate a garage space. Coordination of wall types and support structures will take care of this complex interaction of spaces.

Flexible Open Plan Living

Larger spans can be incorporated within our structural design to allow for open plan living areas, without the necessity for supports or load bearing walls. This gives you free range to have open plan living with spacious kitchen diners and master suite bedrooms.

Floor Features

Canopy

The flexibility and innovative design options available in easi-joists® floor systems, allow features such as porches and canopies to be created using fully cantilevered joist sets. Alternatively, our designers can include edge beams and corner posts as shown in this example.

Adaptable Design

Using floor joists in combination with roof trusses helps achieve living spaces that would not otherwise be possible using attic trusses alone. The ability to adapt our entire product range allows us to engineer and design your project in innovative ways to improve the appearance and usability of your home.
